An important aspect of the Fringe is to connect artists with audiences. One way we do that is by encouraging audience feedback and reviews. Another is that, for the third year, we are fielding our own team of Festival reviewers, the only Festival in the world that does. Our reviewers are volunteers. Some are professional reviewers; others are learning the craft. All have backgrounds in the arts and a love of the Fringe.  We actively seek new voices to increase diversity in reviewing and criticism.

What's with the though?

Every audience member of KC Fringe Festival must purchase and wear a button in order access our events. Think of it as a cover charge or access pass to the 400+ shows, events, and galleries throughout our eleven day festival. For adults, it is a one time purchase of $5.00. Children under the age of 12 can get a button for free. Buttons can be purchased at Fringe 411 or at Venue Box Offices.

But why? You are purchasing tickets online, at Fringe 411, or at the venue box office. Why do you need a button too?

It is simple: KC Fringe Festival is committed to rewarding our artists and venue partners for their commitment to the KC Arts Community. Revenue generated by ticket sales go directly toward paying partnering artists and venues.

The revenue from button purchases support the operating costs of KC Fringe Festival. They allow us to keep our artists and venues supported while keeping you, our fantastic Fringe audiences, engaged.

Pretty cool, huh? But wait--there is more! When you purchase a button, you get discounts and deals from local business through our Button Perks program. To find out where to get your sweet treats,  click here!
