Description:
Theses Two students of world re-known Mime artist Marcel Marceau, like to get together every few years and show their latest Mime pieces. This is one of those years. Beth and Dean will be bringing their latest, silliest, serious, most favorite numbers to the stage.

Beautifully done, elegantly rendered, hilariously presented! I had no idea mime could be so expressive and tell such poignant and funny stories. So glad I caught this show, truly, unusual and entertaining!
2 Mimes in a Pod is a wonderful and joyful exploration of classic clowning and mime. Beth and Dean do a fantastic job transporting the audience into fully realized fantastical locations through physicalities and emotional reactions.
This show is a must see for those who wish to be taken on a magical journey and experience life through the eyes of others.
Be ready to laugh, cry, and explore a variety of lives in this beautiful performance!
2 Mimes in a Pod will transport you into a whole different kind of communication, using no words at all. This show is wholesome, good for the whole family. Beth and Dean are so expressive, so creative, you won’t believe your eyes. I love the music they chose for a background. When Dean put on that coat, with his funny hat, and the look on his face, he reminded me so much of Red Skelton! He has his own style, though. Beth will also be performing at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival this year, so you can catch her there. They both are true masters. You won’t want to miss a minute of their performances.
This is not your grandma’s mime she. It’s fantastic story telling just without words. It is spectacular, acting, dancing and funny clowning around. These two students of Marcel Marceau reminds me of the great Red Skelton. It’s funny, sad and beautiful. Fun for the whole family. If you hate mime come experience this show, it will change your mind about mime.
So nice to see this show….Beth Byrd is a cultural institution in Kansas City and Dean Hatton is a Minneapolis MN institution! A great addition to the KC Fringe Festival….
Amazing performances! This art form can make you laugh cry and feel connected to ourselves without a word. My 10 year old granddaughter loved it too. Especially the butterfly. We came home and she wanted to play charades lol.
Don’t underestimate mime, especially from two who trained with the world’s most famous mime. Their ability to convey that much storytelling without words is amazing.
To be able to make an audience laugh that way just with facial expressions and body movements, that’s talent.
Great visuals, props (real and imagined), sellection of songs, and heart.
Especially if it’ll be your first time experiencing mime, treat yourself to these experts from KC Fringe and Minneapolis Fringe. I saw Dean Hatton in year 1 or 2 of KC Fringe and have never forgottent that performance (that also made everyone from children to seniors laugh at his hilarious version of Phantom of the Opera). Beth is a pro. What she can do with facial expressions is as talented as it gets.
It’s an interesting experience to see the smiles and hear all that audience laughter, with no dialogue coming from the stage.
And the bubbles scene… funny! I hope they put that out as a social media reel or short.
What a delightful show! It was funny, sweet, and beautiful. I always enjoy watching Beth perform- she is a master at her craft, and loved watching Dean for the first time.

This was my first mime show. It was really fun! I didnt have to try to suspend disbelief at all when they were manipulating imaginary objects. It was really neat to watch.
This show reminds me of a game my uncles and cousins always liked to play when I was a kid. It was charades. The performers did a wonderful job as mimes. However, if you are not into mimes, then this show probably is not for you. You have to understand the metaphors for different physical actions. It is much like dance interpretation. Hence, not really the right show for me. You should see it if you enjoy mimes and the equivalent of silent movies and charades. Even though it is not the type of entertainment that I enjoy, I could still tell the performers were doing an amazing job of performing the show.
