Honey Bunny - Forrest Attaway & Missy Koonce

Reviewed By Taylor Hudson

“Honey Bunny” is a crowd-pleasing, relationship comedy with a twist by Forrest Attaway. This new play follows the course of a passionate and tumultuous relationship between a man and a rabbit - that’s right, a rabbit. Mathew Ellis and Stefanie Stevens step in to fill the roles of David and Honey for this staged reading. With great comedic timing and chemistry, they serve the material well. Attaway guides the show from the sidelines, charming the audience and recounting the actual relationship on which the play is based. His anecdotes and quips are a lovely addition and consolation to the play not being fully realized. Attaway's clever writing really shines in the moments where David and Honey are struggling to understand how to love one another. Hopefully a full production is in this show’s future because audiences are eating it up.
