Since its inception, The Black Repertory Theatre of Kansas City has emphasized programming for young people. BRTKC’s community of talented professionals have offered terrific programming with an emphasis on writing to Kansas City metro area schools and their students. RiSE – The Repertory in Schools Empowerment program – was launched in 2016 at Ruskin High School and Hickman 9th Grade Center and continues with great success. With a focus on playwriting we take students from outline to production with their original works. The following is a collection of works developed in this covid year.
