Description:

Kansas City composer Kevin Hiatt will present a series of evening concerts of his chamber music on this years’ KC Fringe Festival. The concert will present world premiere and first regional performances of song cycles for soprano, and baritone voices with piano. Setting texts by Ted Hughes (Five Songs from he River), Langston Hughes (Two Poems of Langston Hughes), and the composer himself A Private Serenade), the concerts will present Hiatt’s compositional work spanning a period of over twenty years. Other works to be performed include One Star in Sight for flute and piano, and Garuda for solo bass clarinet. Featured performers include Victoria Botero, soprano, Adam Hulstine, baritone, and Thomas Aber, bass clarinet. ALL AGES
