Cool and unique venue (but be warned there is no ac). Some great performances but a little uneven in the cast. Most of the monologues are humorous but there are a few heartfelt moments. Sit close to the front.
Cat lovers will especially enjoy the evening.
Some folks really know their cats; not all are sweet and cuddly! Funny, and touching. Was not sure about the venue with no a/c but there were lots of fans, and show was good enough to distract from the warmth.
What an unexpected delight! Sure the building could stand to be a little cooler, but wear a dang t-shirt and don’t miss this unique, sometimes hilarious, and genuinely hilarious collection of all things cat. I meme it! The cast is spot on too!
Very enjoyable performance that the audience was also able to participate in. Each character contrasted each other very nicely. Lastly the venue was very interesting to look around while we waited for the show to start.
This show is super cute and lots of fun! If you love cats you will enjoy this play! ?
Shari Wassergood gathers together a slew of Kansas City writers and performers for a facetious monologue-review. Laughably paralleling ‘The Vagina Monologues,’ ‘The Cat Meme-ologues’ articulate the mental landscapes of some familiar felines– cat memes that have purveyed the internet over the last several years. Whether you are a cat-lover, cat-hater, dog-sympathizer or just enjoy the oddity of animal inner-monologues performed by humans, come with your sense of the ridiculous primed, and you will be delighted.
Dreadful, hack writing. Went with two cat lovers and even they hated it. Meow.
