A talented group of young actors but a very strange retelling of history.

Educational and entertaining. What an undertaking for the girl who plays the talented Marie. Additional standouts were the Sheep and the Servant gal. Left wanting to find out more about this historical character so I searched Marie Antoinette on Google when I got home!

I completely disagree with all the comments about wishing for more clarity. The best part of the show for me was that the storytelling was just as mysterious as the story itself. That was the best strategic chaos I have ever scene at Fringe. And when it comes to those 4 actors I mean just… wow. An absolute must see. I was weary of Home Grown Theatre Co after “geography” but don’t let that discourage you.

A really good show! I was curious to see how the French Revolution could meet the Kardashian style. The uber talented cast succeeded in making it work in a very exhilarating fashion. I recommended it.

I live in the area hit with hurricane force winds in KCK. Looks like a war zone and no power from Saturday evening to Wednesday afternoon. I got less than two hours of sleep Saturday night and dozed off a few times during this show, but not because of anything to do with the show, so keep that in mind when considering my review. I am inclined to rate this show a seven out of a ten. GREAT acting by the lead actress. The whole cast was good, but the lead was exemplary. The reason for only a seven was that I just could not get into the storyline much, but that might of been because of me being so tired. It might be worth an eight or nine, although I would not give it as high of a rating as Incognito, another Fringe show by the same company.

Saw the show again Friday night and enjoyed it even more being able to follow the story better. A new take on a historic personality, with very powerful acting from a talented young cast always up to it. The story is good but the acting is the best part. Keep going…..

Saw this show last night and LOVED it. Funny and powerful, the acting was amazing. It was the last show of the night and I’m not used to the late show time but the show was riveting. Highly recommend catching the final show tonight.

Don’t let the absence of explanatory program notes cause you to miss the significance of this must-see theater piece, which The New Yorker called playwright “David Adjmi’s pivotal work.” This play’s contemporary staging compares then-and-now views of the 1%/99%, celebrity and power. Societies then and now adulate celebrities, taking an even greater delight in seeing them crash. Adjmi’s Marie Antoinette stunned audiences at Yale Rep, Steppenwolf, and Soho Rep Theaters, and Kansas City audiences are fortunate for the chance to see this timely work creatively presented by this NYC-based, highly talented cast. You won’t forget this provocative play and its accomplished young artists.

Walked into the show last night not knowing what to expect. Wow!! It must have been one of the best I’ve seen in Fringe. Powerful acting by a very talented cast of youngsters (most come from New York) who keep together a storyline that jumps here and there but is always entertaining. The show runs smooth to the end enjoyable in all scenes with a few funny highlights. The actors masterfully manage to portray the various situations in the play finishing with the dramatic fall from grace of the powerful. Too bad for those who missed it.

Remarkable performance by a young yet extremely talented cast. Every character was absolutely comfortable in the role and the show was harmonious with hilarious gags and funny but toughtful situations. I particularly enjoyed the first part in full Kardashian style. The lead character was very well supported by Louis and the two courtesans who especially struck exactly the right balance. Talented acting! I also loved the servant in the scene of the arrow, a great idea! Another great moment was the one in the scene of the “minor” operation. A big round to the cast and to the director!
