A great time and not like a typical unstructured improv performance.

A charming show where everyone gets a chance to shine. Though my favorite part was Kate Haugen as a proctologist who had no idea what she was doing. Sadly, that bit probably won’t be in other performances. But providing structure to the improvisation with the whole “hero’s journey” formula was a really neat idea. I’m a big fan of Erika’s work and this was certainly not an exception.

This is the funniest thing I’ve seen at Fringe so far this year. Brilliantly played. This one is different every show, so you can see all showings and it’ll never be the same show twice.

Featuring some fine improv actors, this is a show where the audience get to pick certain overall elements to be incorporated into it. They also decide the hero (randomly) and the performers provide the plot that they make up as they go along. Thus, it’s a zany ride that is often hilarious and often just plain loopy, which worked in the showing I saw especially well as the actors opted to point out how much the plot didn’t make sense throughout. Definitely enjoyed myself and would consider seeing it again as it should be completely different.

An improvised hero’s journey using suggestions from the audience to guide the story. A talented cast with a firm grasp on both long-form improv and storytelling. Despite “high sex drive” being the primary suggestion the cast kept the story focused on the growth of the hero (no, not like that). I don’t know what your version of the show will be like, but it’s sure to be fun.
