"RISE" follows a young woman’s journey through darkness as she becomes entangled in the world of human trafficking. Dance and aerial art are combined in a spellbinding depiction of a secret, vile world, and what it will take to overcome it. "RISE" is based on true stories and events as shared during collaboration with Kansas City anti-trafficking organizations.

The dancing and aerial work in this production are excellent. The story is disturbing, but it is a terrific bit of choreography and performance.
There is some beautiful dancing here. I especially enjoyed the aerial acrobatics, which were skillfully performed. I have two caveats: (1) The story line was not clear–maybe some captions would have helped. (2) I would have liked to see more close-ups. It appears that the entire performance was filmed by a stationary camera.
