BRTKC showcases students from its Repertory in School Empowerment program to bring to life poems, short stories, and plays written by high school students at Ruskin, Grandview and Center High School. The Friday night performance of "In Their Own Words" found the audience in a small, dimly-lit room just feet away from seven student performer who read poems and scripts containing the heart and soul of student writers. Exploring themes such as sexuality, racial discrimination, and the fear of vulnerability and growing up, this show encourages students to use their own voices and be heard.
