In Their Own Words - BRTKC's Repertory in Schools Empowerment Program

“In Their Own Words” is a script-in-hand compilation of student works from Ruskin Grandview and Center High Schools as a part of the RiSE program. Each written work covers a distinct and thought-provoking theme, ranging from a lighthearted take on how teenagers would deal with the apocalypse to systemically-fueled police brutality towards people of color. The variety in writing style and themes is engaging and the cast adapts very well from one writer’s personality to the next. It would be delightful to see these short stories and monologues worked into fully fleshed out scripts. “In Their Own Words” is definitive proof of this generation’s talent. The next generation of scriptwriters are here and now.
