You Are Here - Abby Bland

The only thing bland about the spoken word comedy show "You Are Here" is the last name of the poet and performer Abby Bland. Through a mesh of verse and stand-up, Bland takes the audience on a self-described rollercoaster, leaving the audience with thoughts on topic as diverse as the patriarchal policing of femme bodies and dinosaurs. Festival patrons spend a little under an hour listening to Bland speak on cosmic probability, being nonbinary and asexual, and the loaded question of “how are you?” with her slight drawl and down-to-earth demeanor. There’ll be tons of laughter and meaningful moments as Bland shows AFAB people they have the power to hold either like a bouquet or a gun.
