Everyone knows about the Drag Queens but what about the Drag Kings? Thirty plus years ago a local Drag King saw his first Drag Kings who came to KC by way of Springfield and Joplin. And ever since there have been Drag Kings performing in Kansas City but often in the background being told they weren't entertaining enough. In 2022 Hamburger Mary's KC presented Drag King Academy hosted by Victor Shawn giving many the Drag Kings in KC the center stage.
