Appropriately for this 20th Anniversary festival, 2 decades ago, one of the funny pieces that they did (Phantom of the Boog –I so want to say more about it but best to see it 😃 ) is the finale in this year’s show. First showing will be tonight @10:30. Beth Byrd-Lonski and Dean Hatton are decades long pros and Fringe experts. In first year of KC Fringe, my ex-wife and I decided to give mime a chance. Was so glad to see how funny it can be.

Whether young, young at heart, on a date, feeling adventurous, … treat yourself to this. 😊

This mime show is always a Fringe favorite, and this year’s version does not disappointed. Great humor and terrific energy. Thanks for another enjoyable show.

So much deeper and richer than I was always mistakenly led to believe mime would be! This is the real deal, funny and poignant and delicious all at once. Loved it!

Once again these two manage to blow all preconceived notions about mime out of the water! We’ve been the victims of “fake news” as to what it’s about. Luckily, at this performance, we’re offered the rare chance to experience this art form in all it’s beauty! Forget the glass box trope, they go so so much deeper and we’re rewarded with high humor and heartfelt drama…..and all magically without dialogue! Yes it’s magic!

If your experience of mime is just ninja wiseguys mocking tourists, this show will give you a tantalizing taste of the vast artistic possibilities of this wonderous medium. Alternately warm hearted and… well… demented.

As always, 2 mimes in a pod gives us funny, thoughtful, and sometimes unsettling stories, all presented in mime. Throw away your preconceptions about mime, these artists tell tales of love and loss, addiction, politics, and even boogers with remarkable physical movements and facial expressions. This show made me laugh, cry, and marvel. Go see it.

2 Peas in a Pod 2: Sometimes poetic, sometimes comic, but always inventive and fresh—and in Hatton’s case, very subversive.
PS I’m no artist, but am planning to take their Sat mine workshop to get some insight into their approach.

Beth and Dean are always a delight! The full audience , including my 13 year old, were completely enraptured with each piece. Energy and skill is brought to each scene as you journey with charters both hilarious and heartfelt. Don’t miss their impressive performance art!

A fun and light show with some unexpected darker moments that were still easy to laugh at! Congrats to Dean and Beth for the delightful performances that made me think, made me gasp, and made me laugh!
