Red Clay Country and White Cloverine Salve
Venue: Westport CoffeeHouse
Company Name: Mike and Nancee Micham
This performance piece is a celebration of one dust bowl refugee interwoven in song, first person narrative, personal stories, and passages from the classic "The Grapes of Wrath." As Dorothy went door to door selling salve to buy her first fiddle, we follow her life in Oklahoma then her decision to travel to California, playing her fiddle along the way in the migrants' camps. This is a quilt with blocks from a life filled with grit and driven spirit in loving memory of an "Okie" Dorothy Walker.
