KC FRINGE VOLUNTEER ROLES
Venue Ambassador: Helps keep the venue running smoothly, assisting ushers as needed and taking a head count for shows.
Usher: Collects & scans tickets using iPod touch, checks that every attendee has a Fringe button.
Ambassador Usher: Combined position of the two previous roles, generally used in smaller venues.
Runner: Helps in Operations, delivers programs or other materials to venues. *Must have own transportation.
Rapid Response: Fills in for any shift where needed (including ticketing)*Must have own transportation.
Gallery Guide: Watch over art in one of our galleries and answer questions about art or artist. (information is included in a reference binder)
411 Boutique: Sells tickets, passes, buttons & KC Fringe Merch at our 411.
Gate Keeper: Assists at venue entrances and parking lots. Guides Fringe goers through venue locations.
Hospitality: Staff food tables & bartending. *liquor license not required
First Friday Table & Street Team: Staff table during First Fridays & other various events to talk to and engage the public about upcoming festivals & events. You also assist in signing up prospective volunteers.
The health and safety of our volunteers and our public audience is our top priority. While we want to make sure everyone is enjoying their time with us, we need to be mindful of our operations and keep an eye out for each other. If you see something that you feel could become a potential problem or hazard, please let your team lead know so we can handle the situation appropriately.
