Mimi Dafoe: Confessions of an Aging Starlet

Whim Productions

Show Information:

In 1992, aspiring filmmaker Jennifer Critchlow sat with actress and icon Mimi Dafoe to make a documentary about her life. Over two days of shooting, Mimi refused to actually appear in front of the camera. Lies were told, martinis were spilled, and Lucille Ball was called a communist. The shoot was suddenly halted and the film remains unfinished.

“Mimi Dafoe: Confessions of an Aging Starlet” is the behind-the-scenes story of a project doomed from the start. From playwright Kevin King (Bad Auditions and Flowers in the Wardrobe) and Tara Varney (director of Voyage to Voyager and Silver) comes a darkly comic multimedia stage play.
