Description:

KC actor & filmmaker Jason Turner created Iron City Chronicles as a neo-noir science fiction cyberpunk thriller told through a collection of short film chapters. Alex Calibourne is an ex-cop who was enhanced with exonetic body augmentation in an experiment called the Solid Soldier Program. A block of short films Jason Turner in his Iron Detective series. I had seen some of these before, but there were some vignettes that I hadn’t seen before, plus at the end there was a surprise bonus movie which is a must see! 🙂 My favorite story of this series was “Sentinel” as it reminded me a an old fashion Film Noir, but in a sci-fi world. If you are a sci-fi fan, this film block is a must see.

The best part was Call Me Snake and it wasn’t part of the Iron City Chronicles. IMO noir is punny this film was not punny; also in noir the narrator is unreliable, and this narrator wasn’t unreliable. It was bits of Heavy Metal with a 90s Industrial soundtrack, The soundtrack was probably the best part. I’m sorry to report that I nodded off multiple times during the Chronicles, but the young guys sitting next to me seemed to really like it. Horn hands and all.

Iron City Chronicles follows a cop (ex-cop?)
through a series of short adventures. They are varied. Most are live action but there’s also a graphic novel styled episode. The illustrations are amazing! Also, There’s a totally different short-short film at the end, and it’s so much fun!
