Description:

From the writer of “Best Venue”, Let Me Explain My Blackness: Addressing Black Women’s Thoughts Through Comedy. “This show is filled with a variety of sketches about the stereotypes of black culture. The “black card” is an exclusive credit card, but in black culture it’s an imaginary card that all black people are born with that are constantly under the threat of being revoked if a black person does not act black enough. In reality, they are both luxury cards, and not everyone can have it.

Had to see this based on the premise. It didn’t disappoint It was a fun show with lots of laughs at each turn of the situational stories that were so believable. You’ll be entertained for sure right from the writer producer monologue to the final curtain. So glad I went to this show.

Went to support my friend Tiffany and had a great time at The Black Card Experience! A series of sketches themed around Black culture, this show was clearly a labor of love from the playwright and performers. The technical elements had room for improvement, mostly the transitions, some of which took upwards of two minutes between sketches. But the performers didn’t let any tech issues affect them and they put on a great show with lots of funny sketches and memorable improvised moments too! Go support these hilarious women!

Show begins with “Just so you know, if you aren’t black, you are black tonight.” Shares that Black Card is given at birth and revoked many times by people who think you’re not black enough. Shows us in funny ways (Woke Show, Oscars, brunch, church, meet the family, …) the many facets over the years where someone can be deemed not black enough.

Grand Opening to the Whim Space was two weekends ago. Come treat yourself to a very nice venue and very entertaining group of ladies inviting us to laugh at life with them.

If you want to laugh and laugh A LOT, do yourself a favor and check out these women do their thing! I laughed from beginning to end. Katherene is a genius at her craft and the rest of the cast was top notch. I honestly haven’t laughed that hard or loud in a very long time. It was much needed healing for my soul. Keep up the amazing work!

I’ve seen several of Kat’s shows, and she never disappoints. Her sketch writing rivals the writing on some of the best television sketch shows, and the actors did a superb job with her material. You will laugh, sing, and maybe even dance at The Black Card Experience.

A chance to laugh, reflect, and laugh some more. I’m still laughing at “the awards show” sketch. Also, this was my first time at the venue and I loved it. Excellent space for the show. #hiddengem
