Janelle Crawford-Hine

Title: Bobwhite quail

Location:

Medium: Monoprint and linocut

Description:

The first installment in my series of prairie animals celebrating the biodiversity of the Great Plains of North America. These prairies are some of the most beautiful places on earth but are often talked about disparagingly. Most of this incredible habitat has been plowed for agriculture, and the results can be devastating. A dust storm from plowing recently caused several car crashes, evoking memories of the Dustbowl. If we don't protect this ecosystem that protects us, then what will be left?
