This show is a comedic masterpiece taking history and pop culture we all know to the next level. Thayer’s ability to navigate such a huge amount of material in such a short time is impressive enough by itself but it’s paired with some of the most snappy and hilarious writing and showstopping performance. There’s also so many delightful facts and information that really make this a can’t miss show!!!

Very funny! The jokes are fun interspersed with some reality, which makes them even funnier! Thanks!

An epic parody of an epic movie! Full of fast paced jokes, dialogue, and history, I was reminded of my nostalgia for the film, with a renewed since of knowledge about the event. Katie was energized, passionate and a TOTAL PRO! It was an inspiring experience!

Oh if only she had a microphone, I could have heard all the commentary and jokes. What I did see and hear was very entertaining, pretty well done, and a great introduction to what the Fringe fest is all about.

Very good show. Great energy. Now I don’t have to watch the movie, lol.

This show is a lot of fun, particularly for fans of the Titanic movie, but even for those who may not be. Great energy and lots of humor.

Katie Thayer masterfully transforms the source material (a 3.5-hour movie!) into an incredibly engaging one-woman show with obvious knowledge, performance prowess, and charm. Not only does she deliver a crystal-clear synopsis with multiple props and wig changes (which were impressive in and of themselves!), she sprinkles in fact-checks and commentary that were as hilarious as they were educational. Most of all, I am utterly inspired by someone who can take a youth obsession (I mean, who didn’t have a crush on Leo DiCaprio?) and turn it into a polished, engaging, and hilarious performance. Come see this show!

Great energy, great jokes, great historical facts. An all-around great show. Katie is such a talented performer and really brings it with this show!

This show was a delight. There’s something so fun about someone making fun of something that they actually love! This show feels like you’re hanging out with your most animated friend as they take you on a trip through the plot of this epic film.

Katie commands the room, which was nearly sold-out on the night I saw it. There are plenty of moments of playful audience interaction, and the fun is contagious. Put this show on your schedule for the final weekend of Fringe, especially if you loved the movie.

A very interesting and funny show. I like hearing about some of the behind the scenes info on the actual wreck and of the movie. Energy, Katie has it! 59 minutes of packed story-telling. Lots of props, they just kept coming out of the ‘safe.’

Word of mouth is POWERFUL at Fringe, so you know you’re in for a good time when you enter a standing room only crowd on a Tuesday night. Katie is an absolute delight, providing phenomenal comedy AND commentary at a breakneck pace without getting lost in the fray. Hilarious use of props and brilliant “costume” changes, I just can’t get over how witty this show is! Avoid the first two rows if you don’t want to be in the “SPLASH ZONE,” but she can be seen *and* heard throughout the venue with little trouble. This one is a DON’T MISS!

Little bit of history lesson. Little bit of movie reenactment. Lots of huge laughs.
Wonderful show. Make sure to catch this one.

    So much energy and fun!
Perfectly played and critiqued all the characters!
And so many things I’d like to say but don’t want to spoil your fun – go see this show!

One of the funniest shows you’re likely to experience this summer!

  17. Michael Shaeffer on July 25, 2024 at 11:04 pm

Katie’s show is so deftly crafted. She has focused her fandom and obsession (not only with the movie but with the history) of this disaster and delivered something charmingly brilliant–a joy to watch. I particularly delighted in her Billy Zane antics and whistle flute bangers. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next, because this voyage was so compact and smart. Five out of five icebergs!

Polished, enthusiastic, informative, and very funny. Katie manages to squeeze everything this show could need into such a short window!
For audience members old enough to remember the ’90s Titanic craze, there’s an added bonus of fun nostalgia.
