Description:

Tim Mooney plays all of the characters of Shakespeare’s ONLY Christmas play! (that has nothing to do with Christmas)! Twelfth Night was the Elizabethan “Mardi Gras”, with men playing women, servants playing masters and a good many more dirty jokes than were traditionally allowed. This is also the closest Shakespeare ever came to cranking out a musical, and Tim has given brand new tunes to Shakespeare’s old words! Tim just got a big grant to do Shakespeare’s whole catalogue!

Cast/Crew:

Tim Mooney (Actor, Director, Producer, etc.)

Past Fringe Shows:

Breakneck TWELFTH Night is my TWELFTH show in the KC Fringe, a history that began in 2009 with the World Premiere of "Dancing Nude" and continued with "Lot o' Shakespeare," "The Greatest Speech of All Time," "Shakespeare's Histories," "Breakneck Hamlet," "Criteria; a One-Man Comic Sci-Fi Thriller," "Breakneck Julius Caesar," "Man Cave; a One-Man Sci-Fi Climate Change Tragicomedy," "Moliere than Thou," "Breakneck Comedy of Errors" and "Breakneck Romeo & Juliet"! (Some of those shows won awards and/or holdover performances) This time around "Breakneck Twelfth Night" is again, a world premiere!

Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of seeing eight Tim Mooney productions. This latest breakneck installment may be my favorite. Mooney has expertly crafted another hit. His boundless physical comedy, lending a unique gait and voice to each of the characters (especially a most memorable Malvolio) is a joy to see unfold. In addition to the romantic innuendo and misunderstandings that pepper throughout the plot, Mooney offers his own insight on the text, setting up each scene deftly and offering his own mellifluous melodies to the verses that were traditionally sung. Act 4 includes a laugh-out-loud nod to Monty Python. Act 5 features a wonderfully-kerplopped F bomb, and the artist sticks the landing at 60 minutes just in time to show how the men dressed up as women who were dressed up as men were actually…. Gadzooks! Go and see it already!

Tim is back with a fantastic new addition to his Breakneck Shakespeare one man show series! A treat to watch on stage, you’ll love Tim’s pure commitment to voice and body while playing every part in Twelfth Night. My favorite part was Act 2 Scene 5, Malvolio’s Letter reading monologue. Go check him out and support a true Fringe Master.

This is my third time seeing Tim, and he honestly is my favorite way to experience Shakespeare! His shows are so amazing and entertaining, the Twelfth Night was so beautifully done! Please make the time to see this show!

Tim is awesome. So much included in the dialog. William never sounded so good.

If you haven’t seen a Tim Mooney show, now is the time to fix that! An incredibly entertaining hour!

Must have been 10,000 words of dialog, delivered rapid-fire and continuously for a true full 59 minutes. This show is probably the most work I’ve ever seen put into a fringe show ever, by a single actor. I’m not familiar with Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and it would have been better if I was, as it was way to get lost with the story as it moved so fast. It was impressive and entertaining enough regardless

Great fun and amazing recall. It would have been helpful to me to have had some prop or space marker to differentiate among the characters. Or I should have reread the play in advance! It was entertaining and full of wit!

Fantastic! Definitely 5 stars. I appreciate your dedication to the Bard.

Amazing! Mooney delivered enough dialogue and other content so that, after a scant hour, he elicited the same catharsis that an audience would experience at the end of a full performance of Twelfth Night. He pulled it off brilliantly.

Every Tim Mooney show I’ve seen is fantastic. Great for Shakespeare lovers and newbies alike!

This was an excellent show. Mooney is impressive and hilarious. This is such a great show- I hope to see him again in the future!

Tim does a phenomenal performance in rapid fire of all the characters of the crazy twelfth Night. I think it is rare one human can do this so entertainingly maintaining all the characters of all genders all the time
