Magic in humans

James Higround describes his show as Motivational Magic, which made me excited. I’m a big fan of surprises, encouragement, and watching people do what they love. It’s clear James loves storytelling and includes it throughout his show. I should say our show, he works with the audience to build something magical together.

James begins his show encouraging us to love ourselves and then spends an hour finding ways to weave sleight of hand tricks into stories from his childhood. Multiple tricks help to build a feeling of community and make sense of the randomness in life. Seemingly unrelated inputs from a variety of audience members somehow work together for a rewarding reveal. While the tricks themselves are sometimes a little clumsy, James continues his storytelling and encouragement.

Alone life can be grey, when we share our lives together we can be surprised by what can happen. When life gives you lemons, go see James Higround.
