“Story Shots” is a local series usually presented at MOD Gallery that brings together local writers, directors, and actors to create short new plays set around one central location. For the Fringe festival they have compiled some of their favorite scripts from recent rounds of their series and set them around a park bench. It’s a bare bones concept that puts the work front and center – and aims to create a stronger sense of community within the KC theatre scene.
The real star of this production is the talented ensemble of KC locals that naturally embody each character. Stefanie Stevens is particularly impressive as a government agent determined to save her sister from a bad relationship. Matt McCann delivers a grounded and moving performance in the second set of short plays.
