Cancer?! I Hardly Know Her!

Cancer?! I Hardly Know Her! is a solo comedy show about surviving cancer—and using it as a metaphor for the toxicity that divides us.  Part personal story, part wake-up call, 100% interactive. You'll laugh. You might cry. You'll definitely learn what a Fear Shredder is.

Through personal stories—a diagnosis that changed everything, meeting a drunk wrestling legend, and navigating a world obsessed with being right—comedian Jamie Campbell discovers that the antidote to living in chaos is connection. Come ready to laugh, think, and find common ground with strangers. In a world designed to keep us divided, maybe the most radical thing we can do is be kind to each other.

ABOUT THE WRITER/PERFORMER:

Based in Kansas City, Jamie Campbell is a nationally touring stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. You may recognize him from appearances on NBC’s Chicago Fire, PopTV’s Hollywood Darlings, or the Emmy-nominated ABC series Boondoggle. Last year, he released a stand-up special through the globally recognized brand Dry Bar Comedy.

Jamie has been a major presence on the Kansas City performing arts scene for nearly a decade. In 2024 The Pitch named him the city’s “Best Stand-up Comedian” in their annual “Best of KC” issue. He is a founding member of The Bird Comedy Theater Players and performs regularly with them when he isn’t on the road. Jamie’s previous solo shows, The Devil On the Wall and Big Dad Energy each took home “Best of Fringe” honors when they premiered at this very festival.

When he isn't performing or writing, he loves to spend time with his incredible wife Jessica and their ferocious dog Millie.

EMOTIONAL

July 26, 2026

I expected to laugh, but the emotional and encouraging elements of this show left an huge impression throughout the day! I’ll be thinking of several jokes, stories and riveting moments as Jamie boldly connected to the audience to lift us up and connect us. This show is way more than stand up and Jamie is a natural on stage who makes the audience feel safe when he’s telling jokes and even safer when he’s helping us heal.

Mr. Rogers Meets Standup

July 26, 2026

Jamie did a great job creating a welcoming and engaging, at times vulnerable atmosphere. My wife described it almost like an episode of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood with the way the intro and outro were along with some of the content, but that’s content I’m taking and trying to apply to my own life so thanks for the good advice Jamie! There is pre-show audience interaction prep, so do make sure you show up at least 10 min before showtime.

Welcome to Jamie's World!

July 25, 2026

Jamie doesn’t just do stand up routine but creates a world on stage which we’re all invited to join. Using his own health story as a foundation to address the issues of today’s society. And made us laugh throughout it!

A Feel Good Hour

July 25, 2026

Jamie is a wonderful storyteller. Engaging, funny and personable. He makes everyone in the audience feel welcomed and important. I don’t think Jamie can solve the world’s problems, but he makes them seem conquerable.

Feel Good Fringe Show

July 25, 2026

Jamie Campbell has a natural gift for comedy, but he also has a gift of kindness. He combines his two super powers into one beautiful show, and gives the audience a gentle reminder to shred your fears, lean into humor, and focus on the things we have in common. The kind of show you can recommend to anyone and everyone, because everyone could use a little more Radical Kindness and a little more Jamie Campbell.
