An Absolutely Delightful Improv Experience

July 19, 2026

Such a silly, vibrant, joy-filled show!!! I found myself laughing out loud, singing along, and fully buying into every bold, delightfully dramatic choice the cast made.

The Musical Director set the tone from the very first moments, effortlessly drawing the audience into the experience. From there, it was clear this cast is stacked with improv talent and has remarkable chemistry— the kind of chemistry that creates trust and brave lightning-in-a-bottle creativity that makes live improv SO much fun to watch.

The fact that every lyric and melody is completely made up on the spot is honestly mind-blowing. The tunes were so catchy that several songs are still playing in my head. No two performances will be the same, which means every audience gets a one-of-a-kind show based off of the audience suggestions. I’ll absolutely be back to see this show again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Add this show to your KC Fringe watch list ASAP!! You’ll laugh, you’ll leave humming songs that didn’t exist an hour earlier, and you’ll never see this exact show again.

More than a few belly laughs

Help! I’m Trapped in a Musical is an amazing performance. Whether you’re a longtime fan of improv or have never seen a musical improvised before, this show is a delightful representation of what live theater does best: creating something unique that will never happen exactly the same way again.

I sat and watched in awe of the creative bravery of the cast. The trust they have in each other to make scenes and songs out if suggestions is incredible. The audience matters as well and to future audiences I say this: if you’re fully present and engaged and seeing along, you’ll have a great time.

A Unique Improv Experience

Love love love musical improv. It just amazes me how people can make up lines/lyrics and tell stories. This cast of all women/nonbinary people is amazing. This is a show worth experiencing!

Funny and great chemistry on stage

July 18, 2026

The performers did a great job with the audience-provided scenarios (prompted by the MC/director) and even threw in some bonus suggested but unselected topics.

Improv always impresses me, and forcing it into a musical format is even more impressive. It was neat watching these performers work together to build and shift the skits.

The only bummer is gonna be that (as the nature of the show is) each show is gonna be different, so if you want to talk about it with friends you should watch the same performance together.
