The third installment from Terrace Wyatt, Jr. is an avant garde experience under 30-60 minutes. Think of it like going to kaleidescope. HyperActivity is a play that doesn't explore how ADHD works; it's a celebration and honoring the mentality of the creative individuals who takes it and owns every brain cell of this joy of living a world where people aren't going to understand you, underestimate your worth, and certainly viewing you differently. WHO CARES! ADHD is an exhilarating - most dynamic disorder that's never a dangerous threat. It's only dangerous when the world is afraid of our capability of intelligence, and living life freely and NEVER hitting the brakes; our worth is WORTH IT!!!
You wanna know what the daily life of someone with ADHD is all about? Go check out Terrace’s latest stage examination. I love how Terrance brought out the fact that ADHD is not only (in the 21st Century) mis-understood by the average Joe & Jane. But, also this mental journey doesn’t exhibit in a “One size & flavor fits all for everyone”. Their are many facets that is about as myriad as the people. One of my favorite lines in the play. “WE WERE BORN TO THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX”. Much Thanks Terrace for thinking outside the box and using your talents to help educate the world with the real Truth regarding this super power (I can truly relate) that we have.
say the show on the 23rd and it was very real on what life is like with adhd and the struggles that go with it. a great blend of comedy and emotion.
I don’t think I’ve seen a better representation of how it feels to have ADHD. It’s an uncomfortable reality to live in, and this show gave the perfect peak into the neurodivergent mind.
Terrace Wyatt Jr’s Hyperactivity is a love letter to not only the black people who have ADHD but for black people who are neurodivergent. Terrace brings out the happy the weird the sad and the angry part of living with a disability. Terrace’s acting is phenomenal. His expressions was not only funny to look at but you can also feel his dramatic emotions. There will be points in the one act that he would not say anything but you could understand how he’s feeling. He is on par with Inde Navarrette (actress from Obsession) and Jim Carrey when it comes to his facial expressions! I also love the message of how it’s not about overcoming disability because some disabilities stay with you from birth to the day you die. You just have to learn to live with it and make the best life you can. I also am surprised with this dance moves there are many musical moments and Terrace did a fantastic job doing his dance moves. It’s a beautiful and touching one act play. I suggest you go see hyperactivity by Terrace Wyatt Jr!
This was a POWERFUL one man show that really helped me understand the mind of those who live a neurodivergent life. It was broad, funny and also engaging and I enjoyed every minute of it!
