Show Description
A Gorilla displaced from the circus, here to perform for us, and a trainer who did their best to prepare the gorilla for a world that no longer exists.
We see these two trying to find their place in an unfamiliar world.
Having failed to prepare the gorilla for a world he could not have imagined, the trainer considers how he has loved, and finds regret. He thus confronts the fears and shame that have hijacked his love.
The gorilla, under-prepared, struggles to control an excited and traumatized nervous system.
We see failure after failure on our way to a healing ritual. A confrontation of sorrow that leads to release. The trainer tells us, “we cannot choose what we are numb to; we must open ourselves to suffering in order to have access to joy”.

Tiffany Michelle Foster –
Saw this opening night and people were talking about it at the after party. Lots of physical comedy and audience participation. Go watch this so we can talk about it at an after-party.
Tess Koppelman –
This show is profoundly weird and hilariously absurd. And I mean that as a high compliment.
Jonathan Schneeberger –
Very well performed. With fun and hilarious audience participation.
P. Rudd –
This show exceeded my expectations! Granted, I did not know what to expect. Given my busy schedule I didn’t have much time to research. Highly recommend.
Robin Brown –
Hilarious, high energy, and well performed!
Emily Taradash –
Jason is pure energy and raucous love on stage. What a fabulous, silly, hilarious clown show. Catch it while you can, he’s a treasure!
Aron Wallis (verified owner) –
Genuinely an incredible show. Brooke turns it on from the moment the doors open and doesn’t turn it off. The intensity and care with which each line of dialogue was delivered was palpable.
I will be thinking about and unpacking this show until next year’s fringe. Such a silly show with a lot of complexity packed within. Rediscover the passions that you let die because of outside influences, love your children and let them follow the path they’re meant to. Best enjoyed in the front row.
Camille –
A comedic kinship between man and gorilla that will keep you laughing and wondering what on earth might happen next.
Nicole Hall (verified owner) –
I just had to come & write something in support of this show. This performer and this show are so unique. He didn’t have a single millisecond of less than 100% commitment during the performance. It’s wacky and funny, yes, but it also has undertones of extreme discomfort and tragedy (though I would highly encourage audiences to ignore that last bit & enjoy it and laugh as often as that impulse strikes). It was a perfect addition to the KC Fringe, and I’m so glad I randomly picked it.
Tricia –
This show is hilarious, thoughtful and full of surprises. The physical comedy is hysterical and the dialogue is equally as funny. I highly recommend this show. Go see it!
Amanda Davis –
I didn’t know was that I would end up leaving with gut wrenching pains from laughing so hard. This show was everything and more! From the moment you walked in the door, Jason was on cue with the wacky, funny and all around audience interactions! I’m so glad I didn’t miss this show. It certainly made my Sunday evening one of the best and I hope he comes back to share with us again!
Martin –
Clowning talent on full display!
Madi White –
This clown show freakin’ rocks. Raucous play! This fool manages to rip you a part (some times physically🫀) and most definitely emotionally. They demand you think deeply while also making you forget and play. Such brilliant play! Sit up close and have fun! My favorite show this fringe.
Morgan Simon –
What a phenomenal performance. Sad that I saw closing so I can’t tell everyone I meet to go see it. Uncanny and strange and hilarious and untamable. Jason plays off of the audience with so much charisma. 10/10 Show of the festival in my book!
JT –
First off, as someone named Jason, I was greatly offended by this show. JK, this show was absolutely hilarious. The bits kept going on, but the repetition only made them funnier. The comic timing was great. There’s so much polish in this show that makes it seem spontaneous. Too many laugh out loud moments to count. I’d give this show more than 5 stars if I could. One of the funniest shows this year.
Jackson –
I will be thinking about this show for weeks. Maybe years.
Russell Galloway –
Spectaculaire!
Danielle Anderson –
Absurd, ridiculous, and aware of itself! This show is a silly joy ride that balances the line between deeper meaning and throwing that all out the window, inviting the audience to be a part of its wacky world. What really struck me is the power of the performer and the mastery of comedic timing, control of a large audience, and ability to turn whatever happens into fun for everyone.
Derek Trautwein –
Definitely my favorite show of the year at Fringe, maybe ever.
David Luby –
Great show! Not what I expected at all. Fantastic audience participation. lol 😂 a fabulously funny show. Nice message. Exquisite talent and performance, bravo, bravo. I hope you come back next year. I was so happy I picked this out show.
Che –
A good clown, a great clown even. My little circus fanatic heart was so happy. More existential, classic circus-inspired solo clown performances, please?
Garrett S –
One of my favorite experiences of Fringe so far. I am thankful l got to see the final performance.
David –
This show was an absolute delight to experience! I was so impressed when he was able to do some phenomenal crowd work without needing to speak. I adored the goofy absurdity that left me excited to see what else would surprise me during the show. The absurdity lent itself so well into it being thought-provoking in a clever way, too. This is such a fantastic show to go see!
