Show Description

Martin City Melodrama & Vaudeville Co. is a 40-year-old professional theatre in the Kansas City metro. In 2014 our mission evolved to include uniquely-abled actors of all ages and senior pawformers, rescue pups from area shelters. Martin City Melodrama is thrilled to be part of the KC Fringe this year. We proudly present our newest original show, Fringe-ABILITY. This all-inclusive vaudeville revue features uniquely abled, community, and professional actors and children. This comic theatrical piece features pantomime magic, song, dance, puppetry, and jokes from historical entertainment. Each performer gets a chance to shine and show their merriment and talent. Also joining the shenanigans will be a few senior pawformers. Come laugh with us as we showcase making the invisible, VISIBLE!

Past Fringe Shows

I have long attended KC Fringe over the years. In 2024, I wrote a story on them for the Martin City Telegraph that was published in print and online. In 2006 and 2008, our theatre was chosen to participate in the International Fringe Festival in New York. This is our first time performing with our uniquely abled actors with the KC Fringe. We are thrilled for the inclusion surrounding this production, Fringe-ABILITY.

Myself and my 2 kids went to see “Fringeability” opening day and it was lovely! The script was super funny, the actors were awesome and my kids thought the pie in the face at the end was their favorite part! The show had a great variety of acts- music, magic, comedy and the cutest doggies!! All ages from 1-100 would have fun at this show- go see it!!!

This show was so much fun! It had a lot of variety and was pure joy. I really liked the non-optional sing-along and mid-show dance break, we need more things like this in life. I loved that every person on stage was having the greatest time! If you want/need some pure delight in your life, go to this show!
