We’re glad you found your way to our corner of Kansas City’s arts scene.
The KC Fringe Festival is the largest celebration of arts and culture in the Kansas City metro area. Now heading into our 22nd season, Fringe returns each summer for two weeks packed with live performance, film, visual arts exhibitions, and events featuring local, national, and international artists. Since July 2005, our mostly volunteer-run organization has been championing artists, nurturing creative risk, and inviting curious audiences to experience work that doesn’t always fit in a neat box. That’s kind of the point.
Our mission is simple and ambitious. KC Fringe champions creative expression by empowering artists to produce bold, innovative work through an annual visual and performing arts festival that is accessible and affordable for all. We believe great art should be seen, shared, and supported, not locked behind barriers.
Looking ahead, our vision is to serve as the region’s pipeline for artistic innovation. We work to create opportunities through education, mentorship, collaborations, and partnerships with both emerging and established organizations. We are committed to amplifying diverse voices, expanding inclusive representation across our artists, programming, audiences, and venues, and growing a festival that reflects global cultures and lived experiences. At its best, Fringe is where artists and audiences meet, connect, and build something lasting together.
