Show Description

F*ck Uterus is a darkly hilarious stage experience. Shannon transforms her decade-long battle with endometriosis and adenomyosis—conditions where her reproductive organs essentially staged a painful rebellion—into comedic education while exposing the special hell of navigating a healthcare system that treats “lady problems” like inconvenient myths. It’s an unfiltered journey through dismissive doctors, bizarre diagnostic adventures, and the unique joy of having your physical reality questioned by people with medical degrees. Ever had a doctor suggest your excruciating pain might be stress or that it’s all in your head? Then this show might feel eerily familiar. If not, it touches someone you know. Using sharp wit as both armor and weapon, Shannon turns experiences typically hidden behind bathroom doors into powerful comedy that will have you laughing while wondering if your uterus is angry too.
* Contains exactly the amount of swearing you’d expect from someone who’s been told their documented organ disease is “probably just bad periods.”

  1. Stephanie B

Shannon’s message resonated hard with many in the audience, and not just the ones that were born with uteruses. Clearly a cathartic creative experience, Shannon uses a blend of education, frustration, anger, and humor to share her experience. It’s a good thing she left time at the end for audience interactions – she had a line of people wanting to share experiences and swap pro tips. Good luck, Shannon, and thanks for sharing!

  2. Jessica Whitfield

Great writing and presentation by Shannon Walsh in this one woman show. She bravely takes the stage to tell her own personal story of her struggles with the American health care system and the treatment of uterus havers by the medical field. This is a story that many will relate to and hopefully Shannon’s story of determination and advocating for herself will help and inspire others.

  3. David

Shannon is an excellent storyteller who conveys the emotional depth of her experiences so well that it becomes palpable in the room. It’s as humorous as it is heartbreaking and really gets you to admire her resilience and advocacy. Make sure to check out this show!

  4. Trish

Shannon’s brave, infuriating, inspiring performance is somewhere between a one-woman show and a TED Talk. I left wanting to call the medical profession out for their absolute neglect of women’s healthcare needs (I kinda wanna do that anyway, but DAMN) and give Shannon a hug. (Full disclosure: She’s a friend, so I did.)

  5. Jennifer Baird

Shannon’s painful, beautiful and brutally honest show was felt deep down in my soul. Having been through a similar health issue myself, I laughed hard and I cried hard. Thank you Shannon for telling your story. Keep on telling it and screaming it from the roof tops!
